PRIVACY STATEMENT

 

All submissions to the editors of Urbis et Orbis. Microhistory and Semiotics of the City are reviewed with due respect for the authors’ privacy. By submitting their manuscripts for review, authors entrust the editors with the results of their scholarly work and creative endeavors on which their reputations and careers may depend. In addition, reviewers also have a right to confidentiality, which is upheld by the journal's editorial board. Confidentiality can only be breached if dishonesty or fraud on the part of the author is discovered.

 

The Editorial Board does not disclose information about the manuscript (including its receipt, content, status in the review process, reviewers’ criticism, or final decision on publication) to anyone other than the authors and reviewers. The Editorial Board regularly informs reviewers that manuscripts submitted to them for review are the intellectual property of the authors and are classified as non-disclosable information. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of manuscripts for their own needs, nor are they allowed to pass them for review or discussion to third parties not authorized by the Editorial Board.

 

The review of the article is confidential, the information about the reviewer is known to the Editor-in-Chief and the responsible secretary of the journal. This information is not disclosed. In some cases, reviewers' comments are anonymously sent to other persons who evaluate the same manuscript, which helps reviewers to analyze the submitted material in more detail. Reviewers may be notified of the editor’s decision to accept or reject the manuscript.

 

All personal data of the author submitted to the Editorial Board of Urbis et Orbis. Microhistory and Semiotics of the City are used exclusively for academic purposes as specified in the license terms.
